Exploding Science!
In 5M we have been doing a an experiment about how the different liquids affect the evaporation rate. Our question was how does the type of liquid affect the time it takes to evaporate.
EQUIPMENT
- Lemonade
- Water
- Gel
- Milk
- Candles (x4)
- Candle Holders(x4)
- Lighter
Heat Proof Mat - Measuring Jug
- Foil Trays
METHOD
- First, you get four different type of liquid. Lemonade, water, gel, and milk.
- Then, you get 4 candles and 4 candle holders, and 1 heatproof mat, 4 measuring jugs.
- After, you get a lighter or matches, you pour the liquids inside the measuring jugs. And get foil trays, you pour the liquids inside the foil trays and place on the candle holder.
- Afterwards put the candle under the candle holders.
- Start the stop watch as soon as you place the candle under.
- Finally observe in case of one of them evaporate.
RESULTS
We found out, that the type of liquid does affect the evaporation rate.
