This week in year 5, we visited the Thames Barrier on Monday. We learned about the river and the history about the river.
Our teachers was John and Katy, John taught us inside and Katy taught us outside by
the river. There was a big tunnel with all the answers we needed! John taught us about the animals that live in the river. Did you know that the salmon is the fussiest fish and if the water is a little bit polluted, the salmon would go away but only the bloodworm would stay!
In the Victorian times, the Thames was badly polluted! Because the Victorians used to wash and do there business in there. The factory's chucked old oil in the Thames too!
